Us

I should have been doing a better pregnancy-documentation job, but, alas, I am 31 weeks tomorrow and just now getting around to attempting pictures. Unfortunately, I think I may have missed that ‘cute’ pregnancy stage and moved squarely into the ‘fat’ pregnancy stage.
Anyway, I’m hoping to find someone else to do some pictures for me, because it’s just a bit too hot to be outside fiddling around with the timer or remote for my camera and it’s entirely too hot to be trying to do that while wrangling two other kids.
Oh well, here’s the best I could get of us in the five minutes we were out there before deciding to go get an Icee instead.

(Note to self: This^^^ is not ‘the look’.
)
And here’s the typical ‘I-took-this-of-myself-while-looking-in-the-mirror-to-document-how-big-my-belly-is-right-now’ picture.

I look ridiculous. No wonder people smile when I take their picture; they’re laughing AT me.
Anyway, I’d love to share some pictures from Camille’s 3D ultrasound, but she kept her hands and feet in front of her face the whole time we were there. I’m going back Monday for another peek and maybe I’ll have something good to share then.
I’ll leave with this picture that Jacob took of my big belly obscuring my cute toot’s smiley face:

Priceless.

I know I am not being a good blogger lately.
Excuses:
1. 30 weeks pregnant- and beginning to feel like it
2. Working on my cousin’s pictures in the minutes I have available for computer time each day
3. Two kids at home all day- and neither of them are content to watch me edit photos. The nerve!
Hopefully, I’ll have a ‘new baby’ update Monday.
For now, here’s a quick pic of my two favorite people in the world:

Have a great weekend!

My Five Year Old
Posted on July 12, 2010
‘Five’ sounds so… old.
Kindergarten.
Losing baby teeth.
Those are things I associate with ‘Five’. I’m not ready for my forever-baby-boy to be Five.
But, as of today, he is.

Jacob- at the dawn of Five:
- is obsessed with Star Wars.
- is still a ‘builder’- pipes, Legos, nuts and bolts, hammers and nails- these are his favorite toys.
- pronounces ’saw’ as “sawl”, ‘theatre’ as “fee-uh-ter”, ‘together’ as “togedder”, and gets all tongue tied trying to say ‘vanilla’= “balinna, ba-lin-na, baaalinna… Oh forget it!”
- begins most sentences with the phrase, “I tell you what…” or “I tell you one thing”.
- can carry on complex conversations with himself (shamelessly) when undisturbed. (Me: “What are you doing, Jacob?” Him: “I’m talking to myself about Clone Troopers! Gah”)
- if given a choice, would sleep in the bed with his moma every night. He sneaks into my room at some point during the night 4 out of 5 nights.
- tries to make ‘deals’ with people about everything. “I tell you what, you let me get that new Lego Star Wars set and I’ll give you ten-eighty-thousand kisses!”; “I tell you one thing, I’ll let you give me a popsicle if you turn on Phineas and Ferrrrrrrr!”
- makes up silly jokes and tells them to everyone. “Why did the air conditioner cross the road?… I don’t know! hahahahahahahaHaha!”
- hoards things: tags from Star Wars toys, rocks from around the house, sticks from trees we recently had chopped down, dollars!, popsicle sticks, random junk he finds…
- still wants to marry his moma
, but keeps several “grilfriends” on the side- Casey from Pizza Shack and red-bikini-clad lifeguard-girl from the Country Club are his top girls right now.
“But I’m still gonna marry YOU, mom. Just don’t tell them that!” - has a ridiculous amount of energy. Wiggle. Worm.
- ’shows off’ around other people.
- is planning on being the ‘Camille Police’- responsible for “making sure Molly doesn’t try to cover up Camille’s face with blankets or I’ll have to put her in handcuffs and throw her in jail!”
- loves his moma, his sister, his daddy, and the rest of his family.
- is SO LOVED.

Summer afternoon – summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.
