Hot!
Posted on May 5, 2010
Yesterday, it was 90+ degrees outside. And I am 18? 19? weeks pregnant, so the Pregnant-Woman-Heat-Index was probably at least 100+ degrees.
It was HOT. And it’s only going to get worse. Thank goodness for Coke ICEES, Peach Snow Cones, and swimming pools.
(Side note: Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips….. mmmmmmm- wish I had some. That thought is not related to anything else here. That was just a random pregnant lady thought that I needed to write down as a reminder to myself. Or my husband.
)
Anyway- Swimming Pools! THE swimming pool is not open yet (and I don’t know if I’m ready to start making that daily trek yet anyway), so the kids have been playing in the plastic kiddie pool we inherited last summer. Fun times. Jacob spends his time spraying Molly and I with water guns or roping us into elaborate Star Wars role playing. “Let’s ‘tend I’m Captain Rex and you’re Asoka and we’ve got to travel to Tattooine to warn the desert people about the droids coming!” Ummmm, okay. And Jacob is ALWAYS Captain Rex- someone whom I don’t think is even a major character in the Clone Wars movie. I think Rex has a gun as opposed to a light saber and that’s what makes him Jacob’s character of choice. Figures. I’m usually Asoka and Molly alternates between being assigned the role of The Huttlet and the role of Darth Vader. Sal is assigned the role of General Grievous in absentia.
{It’s unbelievable how much space in my brain is now devoted to stuff Jacob has forced me to learn in order to participate in his world. First, it was trains. Then, pirates. Then, Egyptology. Now, Star Wars. I wonder what will interest Molly as she gets older? So far, it’s just been BALLS! and then SHOES! for her.}
Molly spends her time climbing into and out of the pool. And squealing.

Have a great Wednesday!
i am SOOOO GLAD you are back to blogging!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love it… also love the black and whites you have done recently……one word…book!!!! guess you will wait till numero tres now…..call D. for the latest !!
I’ve joked that Carter’s going to get a blue pool for the summer and SO IS MAMA!
And as for the Salt & Vinegar, I love the Pringles version. Lays is good too, though.
Thanks for the recommendations. I looked for those at my local store… but they didn’t have ANY salt and vinegar chips.
I settled for Tom’s from the gas station. My real favorite is Cape Cod brand Sea Salt and Vinegar. Yummmmmm.
