Catching Up

Posted on March 25, 2010

Most of you probably don’t know that I’ve suffered a great deal of computer problems lately.  It has caused me tremendous stress and I am just now getting caught up on the work I was doing before the ‘catastrophe’.  So if you have wondered why all you’ve been seeing or hearing around here are crickets, it is because I am over my head in old and new work and have not had much time for personal pictures.

Also, when I announced here that I was pregnant, I said I reserved the right to say “all I can handle is my own kids; no pictures of other people for the time being”.  Well, now I’m exercising that right.  All I can handle right now are taking care of my own kids, finishing up  the work I already have, and, of course, honoring the commitments I have already made to a couple other clients in the coming weeks.  After that, I am taking an extended break.  Sorry.

Hopefully, I’ll soon be able to catch up on everything and get back in the swing of posting more frequently.  In the meantime, here’s an old (?) picture of Jacob- and my favorite smile:

SHOES.

Posted on March 16, 2010

Molly has replaced her long-time ball love affair with a shoe devotion.  She wants shoes on as soon as she wakes in the mornings.  At home, if you look up and Molly’s gone, don’t worry- she’s sifting through the ’shoe basket’ in the laundry room.  The girl loves shoes.  (And jewelry… but that’s another post entirely.)  She keeps shoes on her feet unlike any baby I’ve ever seen.  And if she happens to lose a shoe, NOTHING else can be accomplished until she gets the shoe back on her fat little foot.

And, it’s not just HER shoes that she loves; she is an equal opportunity shoe lover.  I can tell whose shoes she’s wearing by listening to her coming my way.  CLOP CLOP CLOP means she’s wearing Sal’s big shoes.  SHUFFLE SHUFFLE SHUFFLE means she’s donned a pair of Jacob’s.  (She doesn’t often wear mine.  Hmmm.  My shoe taste must be as bad as Sal has suggested if a baby that loves shoes usually shuns them.  Or maybe I just put away my shoes rather than leave them scattered about like the boys here. ;) )

Anyway-

Here’s how I caught her the other day:

Hank the Cowdog

Posted on March 12, 2010

Today is another dress-up day at Jacob’s school.  We’ve already done Johnny Appleseed and Native Americans, today we’re doing favorite storybook characters.  Jacob has a monkey costume, so I tried to lead him in the direction of Curious George- who is definitely one of his favorites.  That, of course, would have been too easy.  ;)

Instead, Jacob insisted on becoming ‘Hank the Cowdog‘- the hero of the chapter book series of the same name.

We’re currently reading our second book in the installment, and I must agree that they are quite entertaining.

Here’s the Head of Ranch Security, Hank:

{I spent more time than I care to admit painting that shirt.}

Jacob has been wearing the ‘hat’ around for days now.  He was so excited to put on his entire costume this morning!

And a little known fact, not included in the book series:  Hank levitates.

As twenty days are now.

For Miss J

Posted on March 7, 2010

Yesterday I had an awesome time photographing J, a senior from New Iberia.  (*Of course J doesn’t fall within the age guidelines set forth in that post two weeks ago… but I do have a few previously-scheduled senior sessions this month.  ;) )

As you’ll see in her preview, she is absolutely gorgeous, so my job was sooooo easy!

A big thank you to J, her aunt, and her mom for everything!  I hope you like them so far!
