Happy Halloween!

Posted on October 30, 2009

Halloween festivities are in full swing here- parties last weekend, church festival Thursday, parties and trick or treating tomorrow.  I’m exhausted just typing all of that!  Luckily, we have a growing candy stash to boost my energy.  ;)

Surprisingly,  I haven’t taken too many pictures this week.  Sometimes I just like to enjoy the moment without lugging around a camera, you know?  I didn’t take the camera to the church festival the other day, but I did round up the kids for a couple of shots before we left for the event.

This is typical (and my favorite :) ).  Molly working her way down the steps, Jacob trying to stick his head in the jack o’lantern:

It wasn’t long before the piglet had shed her headpiece (like the Mummy did within a minute of putting his on).  I guess it was hot- can you see her sweaty hair?!  And Jacob could not be convinced to leave the running shoes in the closet.  Even mummies need comfortable footwear apparently:

Have a Happy Halloween weekend everyone!

One month from one year

Over the weekend, Molly officially became an eleven month old, and I officially became depressed that her first year is almost complete.  (Not really.  But seriously, where did that time go?!?)

Molly is now taking tentative steps, but still predominantly prefers to feverishly scoot from place to place.

Other Molly news:

  • She still just has those two bottom teeth!
  • “Moma”, “Dada”, and “Go!” are her favorite words.
  • She likes to wear sunglasses.
  • She apparently LOVES to take off her shoes and socks.
  • She apparently LOATHES the drive home from Shreveport to Sunset.
  • She kicks her legs excitedly every time I pick her up.  I love that.  :)   She also pats me on the back while I pat her on the back.
  • She enjoys digging in the flower beds, pulling things out of drawers and cabinets, attempting to play with whatever toy her brother happens to be playing with, TV remotes, dancing, smiling at people in grocery stores, BALLS! (still), cheese, having her teeth brushed, being chased around the room, and grabbing people by their noses.

Despite the nose-grabbing, she is still incredibly sweet.

Lucky am I.

Special Request ;)

Posted on October 26, 2009

Sometimes I take pics for people and don’t publish them to the blog.  Such was the case last week when I photographed Sal and the other MD’s from Surgical Associates of Opelousas.  Their business is expanding and they needed a couple of shots for… something.  Advertising?  I can’t even remember.  Anyway, I didn’t blog those because I wasn’t sure they wanted them blogged, but apparently some of them have been waiting for their ’sneak peek’ and were getting a bit antsy. :P   So, without further delay:

I do have these in ‘regular color’, Sal, so don’t worry.  And, of course, these aren’t going to be printed as a collage.  :P   But you ask for a sneak peek, you get a sneak peek collage.  ;)

Poor, poor boy

Posted on October 25, 2009

Jacob got stung twice by hornets today.  :(   He’s currently passed out on the couch… all the while wearing a pirate costume.

Hopefully, he’ll be feeling much better when he awakens.  Poor thing.  :( :( :(

Blessings x3

Sunday afternoon, I had the great pleasure of photographing Elise’s gorgeous family in Lafayette.  Their family has recently expanded from three to five, thanks to the addition of twin boys, who join two and a half year old big brother, T.  Elise is sooooo outnumbered!

Thanks again, guys!  Here is a quick sneak peek for you:

(^^^See- I told you this family was gorgeous!)

Wishful Thinking

Jacob asked me to write this:

He drew the picture of the “X’ed out grell” (’girl’).  He has kindly offered to let Molly and I stay here, as long as we help him guard againast any other “grells” that might try to invade his territory.   You’ve been warned.  ;)

In other Jacob news, he announced last night that he knows what he will ask a genie WHEN he finds a genie in a bottle:

“First, I want a huge sack of water.  I’d use the sack of water to make a big river myself!

Next, I want to have it snow here twenty times a year so I can do some sledding and some skiing.

And then, for my last wish, I want a lot of cords.” (Sorry, no further explanation given on that last one.)

I love my weird boy. :)

Today, he said. “I’ve been thinking… What if the moon is really just one enormous chocolate chip cookie???  I’m gonna have to take a rocket up there with a huge cup of milk and explore it!”

I want him to stay like this forever.

Jacob drew this picture of the two of us for my birthday:

I LOVE it so.

{He gave himself an extra arm because he “wanted to look a little like an alien”.  ;) }
