Little Known Fact: Johnny Appleseed also worked as a clown
Posted on September 25, 2009
Or at least you would think so after seeing Jacob’s version of Johnny Appleseed:

Today was ‘Johnny Appleseed Day’ at his school. (Yeah, I didn’t know there was such a day, either.) Jacob helped make his ‘costume’ and was pretty proud of it. Unfortunately, I have to take credit for that ridiculous attempt at a pot on his head. {It kind of looks like an aluminum foil Russian Ushanka hat, don’t you think? Although, Jacob’s hat does have a pot handle, you just can’t see it in the picture.} Also, he painted apples (like on his shirt) on the canvas bag. Because everyone knows that Johnny Appleseed carried a fruity purse. And wore argyle socks with running shoes. And saluted everyone he saw.
On a not-at-all-related note, I finally got the mirror I had been wanting to hang over the living room fireplace:

Naturally, someone whose name rhymes with ‘Ralvador’ broke a part of the frame within an hour of me bringing the mirror home. But, having seen the craftiness of the Johnny Appleseed costume above, you should know that reattaching the broken piece would be no problem for us.
I can’t even tell where it was broken now.
I have a ton of things I am working on right now. If you are waiting on galleries from me, they will be ready SOON! I’ll email you all when your pictures are ready.
Very beautiful mirror and kiddos. I love Molly’s costume. I hope to see Jacob’s as well.
