I dropped Jacob off for his first day of school this morning. I was expecting him to cling and cry, but he just waltzed on in and never turned around. Ha! He may as well have asked me to drop him off a block from campus so he didn’t have to be seen with me.

On February 21, 1997… waaaaaaaay back when I was a senior in high school… this guy came to the store where I worked and his math was all wrong when he came to pay. I thought he must not be very smart. Nonetheless, I agreed to go out on a date with him.
On August 12, 2000, we got married at Hodges Gardens. It was hot. I fell down (I can’t figure out where Jacob gets his clumsiness…). We didn’t go on a honeymoon. He was starting his second year of med school and I reviewed his notes with him on our drive home from the ceremony. I still remember reading about helicobacter pylori (it’s an infection, not an intoxication! 
). We stopped at a gas station in Many, Louisiana, and had lunch: Meat pies and Chicken Crispitos. Nice.
Nine years and two beautiful children later, we’re still married. It turns out he’s not that bad at math after all. I guess I’ll keep him.
Happy Anniversary to my dear husband today!!!
He sent me flowers. 
(Of course, one of our babies is in the back of the picture. )

Welcome to my new website/blog! I have so many changes happening this month, I thought I may as well change my photo-sites, as well.
I love this format- website for my photography business and personal/business blog all in one! I should be able to handle this better, right? Right??? Right! Over the next few days, I’ll be adding more content back to my galleries. For now, the galleries contain pictures currently housed on my laptop (in other words, LOTS of Molly and Jacob pics). As I delve into my external hard drives, I’ll be putting in portraits from a lot of different sessions I’ve done over the past year. Check back soon.
Before long, I will be returning from “maternity leave” (*snicker*) and diving back into the portrait biz! So if you are local to the Opelousas/Lafayette area and are looking to have senior pics, child or family portraits made, let me know! Keep an eye out for special deals, too. Oh, and if you are in the East Texas or Shreveport areas, I’m planning trips home in September and around the holidays and will gladly schedule a few sessions in the ‘land of free babysitting’ (a.k.a. near MiMi).
